The Great Unhappiness

George W. Bush served (serves) as president of these United States from January 20, 2001, to 12 P.M. on January 20, 2009. This time period will go down in my history book as "The Time of Great Unhappiness."

Here are just a few memorable quotes from these times. Certainly not W.'s Greatest Hits, or most infamous enunciations, yet these quotes have proven over time to be iron-laden (ironical). And so, freedom is just another word. Yes, W. demolished words like freedom.

---------------------------------
I have a different vision of leadership. A leadership is someone who brings people together. George W. Bush (Right. You are a uniter and a decider and never-ever divided us, or forgot about us in OUR time of need [Katrina]. Thanks . . . thanks a lot, Mr. "a leadership".)

After the chaos and carnage of September 11th, it is not enough to serve our enemies with legal papers. George W. Bush (No sirree, W. And we know HOW you made sure of that. War and illegal occupation of the wrong country.)

America is a friend to the people of Iraq. Our demands are directed only at the regime that enslaves them and threatens us. When these demands are met, the first and greatest benefit will come to Iraqi men, women and children. George W. Bush (What's left of them. And no one bothered to really keep track of how many Iraqi men, women and children have died and are still dying. Good estimates range to over 1 million dead, and I'm not counting the tens of thousands who ran for their lives to nearby countries for sanctuary -- away from your regime.)

America is a Nation with a mission - and that mission comes from our most basic beliefs. We have no desire to dominate, no ambitions of empire. Our aim is a democratic peace - a peace founded upon the dignity and rights of every man and woman. George W. Bush (More like a hunting mission for some oil, ay, Viceroy? and somehow the oil got spoiled by all that spilled blood. Your bloody oil will be worthless - sooner - not later.)

America must not ignore the threat gathering against us. Facing clear evidence of peril, we cannot wait for the final proof, the smoking gun that could come in the form of a mushroom cloud. George W. Bush (Wait, were you all DOING mushrooms when you said this?)

America will never seek a permission slip to defend the security of our people. George W. Bush
(Hows about permission from Congress? You, W. invaded an unarmed country, illegally, made a bonfire, assisted by your crony contractors, and scattered what was left to the four corners of the earth, either by bomb or sheer fear.)

Any government that supports, protects or harbours terrorists is complicit in the murder of the innocent and equally guilty of terrorist crimes. George W. Bush (Now tell me, why did you fly out Saudi families immediately after September 11, 2001? And tell me why Osama and crew have not been caught?)

Every nation in every region now has a decision to make. Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists. George W. Bush (What about you, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and Wolfowitz? I now classify you guys as terrorist "regions" in your own mind, by instilling fear in your own countrymen. [Sadly, in the beginning, the entire world used to be with us]. )

Everywhere that freedom stirs, let tyrants fear. George W. Bush (Were YOU fearful when we found out you were listening to all our communications?)

For all who love freedom and peace, the world without Saddam Hussein's regime is a better and safer place. George W. Bush (Say that to the Iraqis just one more time. I dare ya.)

For diplomacy to be effective, words must be credible - and no one can now doubt the word of America. George W. Bush (Really? Your WORDS?!!! The entire planet knows about your lyin-words and who's your daddy!! Happy retirement in Dubai!)

Freedom itself was attacked this morning by a faceless coward, and freedom will be defended. George W. Bush (W.? your friend "freedom" turned on your own people and called them terrorists, stripping them of the freedom of knowing that they could speak out, without retribution or if jailed, they would know without a doubt, they would have a lawyer and a trial. Now, who is the faceless coward?)

I am mindful not only of preserving executive powers for myself, but for predecessors as well. George W. Bush (Thanks for the preserving there, W. And, yeah, America does not conduct round-ups of innocents, or renditions them and tortures them. How did that work for ya? Did you gain valuable intel in order to protect America, or were you spying on your own people? And do you really think a President Obama will violate the Constitution as you have and continue on the Great Cheney Unitary Tradition of power stab-and-grab?)

I believe in the transformational power of liberty . . . I believe a free Afghanistan is in this nation's interest. George W. Bush (Taliban is stronger now than when you started your presidency. And where the hell is Mr. "wanted dead or alive" Osama bin Laden? Did you liberate him?)

You can fool some of the people all the time, and those are the ones you want to concentrate on. George W. Bush (And concentrate you did; right down to the very last 23% left that still like you somehow.)

Oh!
Demolition, demolition
Demolition, demolition

Tied to the tracks and the train's fast coming
Strapped to the wing with the engine running
You say that this wasn't in your plan
Don't mess around with the demolition man

Tied to a chair, and the bomb is ticking
This situation was not of your picking
You say that this wasn't in your plan
And don't mess around with the demolition man

I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
I'm a three line whip, I'm the sort of thing they ban
I'm a walking disaster, I'm a demolition man
Demolition, demolition
Demolition, demolition

You come to me like a moth to the flame
It's love you need but I don't play that game
'Cause you could be my greatest fan
But I'm nobody's friend, I'm a demolition man

I'm a walking nightmare, an arsenal of doom
I kill conversation as I walk into the room
I'm a three line whip, I'm the sort of thing they ban
I'm a walking disaster, I'm a demolition man
Demolition, demolition
Demolition, demolition

Tied to the tracks and the train's fast coming
Strapped to the wing with the engine running
You say that this wasn't in your plan
And don't mess around with the demolition man
Tied to a chair, and the bomb is ticking
This situation was not of your picking
You say that this wasn't in your plan
And don't mess around with the demolition man

The Wild West wasn't even the Wild West.
Hurting people isn't good.
Sometimes it is, but not...
...when it's people looking for food.) ~ Demolition Man
